Business Internet is requesting to download Xfinity app to setup internet

Hi,

I have been trying to login to our internet here and it keeps asking me to download the Xfinity app. I cant use my business app credentials on it. What do I do?

Thank you,

John

Hi @user_cf1795

It almost sounds like maybe you're connecting to the public Xfinity WiFi? To set up your Business Internet, you'll want to use these instructions:

Set up and manage your Comcast Business Wireless Gateway

Hopefully that helps, but please let us know if not!

@Comcast_Gina nope. Well I did try the public Xfinity WiFi after trying everything else but that wouldnt connect to the internet either. I have tried both 2.4ghz and the 5ghz wireless also ran an ethernet cable directly to my laptop. It used to work fine but now for a while it hasnt. We dont use it as our main internet connect but I do want it for a backup if the other goes down. And that used to work fine. I was able to get directly into the gateway at 10.1.10.1 and I am going to restore factory settings for the gateway and see if that works.

Oh yikes, thank you for letting us know! Connecting directly to the device via Ethernet should work, so if you would like us to take a look at things, you can use the following instructions to send a direct message:

Credit to Residential Forum user @BruceW for this excellent explanation that has been modified for our Business Forums: "To send a "Direct Messaging" message to "Comcast Business":

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon:

  • or https://comca.st/3C89bXk
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Comcast Business" there
  • - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Comcast Business" from that list
  • - An "Comcast Business" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it"
