Phone display shows Voicemail, but account shows empty

Can someone tell me why desk phones show that there's a Voicemail waiting when the online account is empty. I was told that that the phones wouldn't show any available voicemail alerts (either onscreen or red indicator light) if they're deleted from the account. Please provide more information as I cannot find it on this site.

Good morning, that is a great question and we are sorry that you were having a hard time sending a private message, but you can follow these steps.

Sign in to the community.
Click the message count or envelope icon to go to your Private Messages Inbox.
Click New Message.
Enter the recipient's name in the Send to.
Enter the subject for the message in the Message Subject.
Type the reply in the Message Body.
Click Send Message.
