caller ID just displays call location, can't hear caller

We have noticed over last several weeks that whenever a call is received and the caller ID only displays the name of the state where the call originated (instead of the name of the business or person calling), when we pick up the call, we cannot hear anyone on the other end.  This is not limited to any one state or caller, but is a consistent problem.


I cannot say definitively that there is a coorellation. but it seems that the two always happen together.


Is there any known cause for this kind of penomenon?

Thanks for reaching out about the caller ID and inability to hear callers, mmorris. This isn't an issue that I am aware of, so I'd like to look into the phone setup in our systems. Would you please Private Message us by clicking on my handle (Comcast_Gina) and then sending your name, the business name, the complete service address (including city, state, ZIP, suite number, etc), and the phone or account number?
