Blind Transfer Option

When handling incoming calls, the Blind (or Cold) Transfer feature stands apart from other transfer types because it sends the incoming caller’s Calling Line ID through to the intended recipient of the call.  You can leverage this BVE feature by using any of the Polycom phone models by Selecting Transfer > Selecting Blind > Entering the Extension > Selecting Dial. To access user and quick reference guides for our BVE features, go to business.comcast.com/getstarted.

Santelln,

Thanks for the question! There is not a way, at least at this time, to make the Blind Transfer the default option. It does require that you select the Blind option button/soft key. That could change in the future with an upgrade to the Polycom phone software that will allow you to choose a default type of transfer. I will update this forum if I get a confirmed date on when this phone software upgrade might happen. I hope this helps.

Hi Dave.

Is there a way to make this the default transfer option for my environment?

Setting the Blind Transfer option as a default would be a huge help to our company.  It is our number one complaint from users.  I would hope a major equipment provider like Comcast could push Polycom to include this in an update as quickly as possible.

I am excited to see how the merger of Polycom and Mitel will effect BVE. Mitels version (MiCloud) was really nice. Just was cost prohibitive when we were looking.
