Voicemail not playing when shop is closed

Hello, I own a pizza restaurant and often rely on voicemail messaging to inform customers when they call before or after hours. Or when we are closed for holidays. I am able to access my voicemail menu and make personal greetings. However, when I call my restaurant to test the voicemail it just rings and rings to no avail. I have a message set up and ready to go. Been trying to solve this mystery for a while now. Please advise because I get many messages from customers because they are not informed when they call with no answer. Definitely high priority as I’d like to make messages with hours or if we are closed for whatever reason. Thank you.

Hi, @Nifo. I want to make sure I understand the situation. Is the issue more a problem that it rings for so long before hitting the voicemail, or that it will continue to ring for say 5 minutes for example without ever going to voicemail?

It never goes to voicemail. I’d only like the voicemail to pick up when we are not open answering phones. That way I can make a message informing people of our hours.
