No phone batterys any more? No Power back up for phones.

I just had my phone unit replaced and

the replacement  is a TM722.

( Think it was a residential unit. )

They told me , That they do not give out Batterys for it anymore.

Why are bussiness class Phone not getting Batterys any more?

They also would not give me back the battery pack I had.

I might have to look for another Phone company.

One that come with a backup so the phone still works with no power.

Found this :

On Bussiness Voice Help page.

http://businesshelp.comcast.com/help-and-support/accounts-billing/comcast-business-prepare-storm-outage/

Half way down the page says.

"

  • Keep a corded, landline phone on hand to be able to call 911 in an emergency situation.  These phones, unlike cordless phones, don’t need a separate power source to operate as they plug directly into the wall plug (RJ11 outlet).
  • Ensure your backup battery is working.  Comcast Business provides free battery for all Business Voice customers.  The battery backup provides up to 8 hours of standby time and up to 5 hours of talk time. During an outage, make only necessary calls to ensure your battery lasts to its full potential. Comcast Business will notify you if your battery is low or missing. Learn how to troubleshoot, install or order a battery (if it is missing). "

See this line:

Comcast Business provides free battery for all Business Voice customers

Now, Why is Comcast Business telling me , They will not give me a Backup Battery?

And yes, I did read the post about:

  • A Comcast spokesman made it clear that the company no longer provides a backup battery automatically with each XFINITY voice modem.

“If a customer currently has a backup battery from Comcast, we will continue to monitor the status of the battery and will notify them if it becomes depleted and may need to be replaced.
  • This new policy change applies to our residential customers only.”

So, Why can I not get a Backup battery . For the replacement Phone box. That had a Battery with it?

Your account is currently ineligible for a battery shipment at this time. If you need more details, please contact us at 1-800-391-3000.
