Call Forwarding - Change caller ID to Comcast phone #

Greetings,

 

I am attempting to set up a custom ringtone for any phone calls forwarded from our business phone # (Comcast) to a personal phone # (iPhone 5s).  Google Voice has this setting which changes the caller ID from the person calling to the Google Voice phone #.  Is there any way to do the same thing through Comcast Bussiness?

Hi there! I appreciate you taking the time to inquire about settings for your phone, I know that with the way that things have been recently it's more important than ever to be able to configure, forward, etc! There are a few different ways to differentiate or configure calls with our Business VoiceEdge service that might be useful:

 

Enable Alternate Number settings for Business VoiceEdge 

Play ring reminder when a call is forwarded option

Activate a distinctive ring

Thanks for your assistance.  I read through your instructions and I'm not sure how to proceeed.

 

Reminder that I'm trying to forward all calls going to Phone A (Comcast Business) to Phone B (personal iPhone) and I want a distinctive ringtone so I know which phone calls are business related and which are personal.

 

Things I've Tried:

  • Call Forwarding - Didn't work.
  • Mobility "Be Anywhere Phone" - Didn't work.
  • Call Forwarding Comcast Business > Google Voice > Personal iPhone - Didn't work.

 

Question:

  • Your third bullet point lists "Distinctive Ringtones", but I can't find the setting for this feature when signed into my account online.  Your link seems to say this feature is only availble with "Business VoiceEdge".  However, the "Voice Mobility" website (click here) lists "Distinctive Ringtones" as one of the features we get.

Thank you so much for letting us know! For an account that is not Business VoiceEdge, we can take a look at the settings; I understand what you mean about the Caller ID that would definitely simplify things! There's this link for Dinstinctive Ring with Business VoiceEdge but it doesn't necessarily sound like what you are attempting to set up. If you can send us a Private Message with your name, the business name, the complete service address (including city, state, ZIP, suite number, etc), and the phone or account number we can take a look and see about the Caller ID.
