Block certain incoming numbers?

Is there a way to clock certain incoming numbers?  We keep getting spam calls from a few very specific numbers.  I know I've done it at home in the past.

I looked at the Manage Call Security and Privacy page and none of those options are what I'm looking for.

I know how frustrating it can be to get a lot of unwanted calls. I apologize for the delay in our response. You can always block unwanted numbers from reaching you buy using our selective call rejection feature. More information on this service and how to access it can be found through this link https://comca.st/2SyUWW1

When you don't want to be interrupted by certain callers, Selective Call Rejection allows you to create a list of up to 12 numbers that will receive an announcement indicating you are not presently accepting calls.

Add Phone Numbers to Selective Call Rejection:

  1. Log in to Comcast Business My Account.
  2. Under the Services tab, select your voice service.
  3. On the right-hand side, select Feature Settings and then select Privacy.
  4. Scroll down to Selective Call Rejection and select Add New Rule.
  5. Add a Rule Name. To add specific phone numbers, select Selected phone numbers and add the phone numbers you would like to be a part of the rule.
  6. Select Add Rule.

We have numbers with other carriers that are forwarded to our Comcast Business phones.  After attempting to block them with the instructions you've listed, the caller still can get through.

user_e9aed0 When you transfer or forward calls to an external number, the receiving party will see your caller ID name and number. They will not see the caller ID of the party that is being transferred or forwarded. This means you may need to block the number with each of the other carriers to ensure they no longer get through.

Hello @user_87aada! I can understand the desire to have numbers simply blocked without an announcement and we greatly appreciate your feedback. This link shows all of our business voice features that are available, however I'm not showing another option to block specific numbers without an announcement. We're always looking for ways to make our products and services better, and your feedback is important to us!

I no longer work for Comcast.

Any way to block specific numbers yet or just still acknowledging how frustrating it is yet not doing anything about it?

Thanks for reaching out about number blocking on your Comcast Business Voice line, user_42b61e. Our Selective Call Rejection feature allows you to add up to 12 numbers. The caller will hear a message that you are not currently accepting calls.

I understand you may need more than 12 blocks with spam calls though. We have a great process to submit ideas for changes to our service here. I went ahead and sent this idea to the team. I agree it is important to be able to block the spam calls from clogging up your business phone line and there is room for growth here. I would like to see the amount of number for Selective Call Rejection increased or a Spam button itself.

Here are the instructions for Selective Call Rejection in case you want to use that for 12 of the numbers. The numbers can be updated as you feel fit.

Add phone numbers to Selective Call Rejection

  1. Sign in to My Account.
  2. Select Phone from your subscribed services.
  3. Select Feature Settings and then select Privacy.
  4. Scroll down to Selective Call Rejection and select Add New Rule.
  5. Add a Rule Name. To add specific phone numbers, select Selected phone numbers and add the phone numbers you would like to be a part of the rule.
  6. Select Add Rule.

No Feature Settings to be found. Left tab has "Users & Lines, Call History, Hunt Groups, Schedules, E911 Settings, Music on Hold"

Middle of the screen has my company name and address then a list of my phone lines under it.

@user_5e5def Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Comcast Business Forums. Just to clarify, are you trying to block more than 12 numbers? Are you also trying to block anonymous calls? If you are trying to block anonymous calls you would need to follow these steps:

To activate Anonymous Call Rejection:

  1. Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *77 and listen for a confirmation tone that the feature has been activated.

To deactivate Anonymous Call Rejection:

  1. Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *87 and listen for a confirmation tone that the feature has been cancelled.

Note: Anonymous Call Rejection is not available with Hunt Group.

Customers may call Comcast Business at (800) 391-3000 to request a list of calls blocked within the past 28 days via Anonymous Call Rejection
