Modem & IPV6 Default behavior with Static Addresses

[ Edited ]

I read the sticky post that static IPV6 was available in my area; so, I took the plunge and got a new Cisco 3939B modem installed. And I don't think it's working. Well, I know it's not working the way I expected, but I'm not sure how it's supposed to work…

When I attached a computer directly to the old SMC modem, it would get a IPV6 address assigned to it. On this modem, that's not happening. Two, I can't tell that the modem's been loaded with any of the static infomration that the Service Rep gave me. Third, that information is different from what I see on my comcast customer account webpage.

Does this look right? It's how my modem is showing on the Local IP network tab.

I have a ticket that keeps getting closed as complete; yet, nothing is changing!  If the Comcast Team is reading, it's CR668404738.

I'm totally new to IPV6, and at this point, I'm not sure what to ask for, but I know it's not working the way it should.

Any help is appreciated.

Jef

It seemed to have fixed itself. Presumably tech support reset the modem or something.

Is that modem from Comcast?  If so, most of it is off limits to customers so only Comcast support can make it work.

Try keeping somebody on the line until it is fixed.  I've been having problems with Comcast Business support closing Cisco modem tickets too.  1:1 NAT has been broken on my modem for a while and I think it's time for me to refuse its rental fee.
